With a background in Science Technology and Biology, she brought vast technical expertise. However it’s her sharp eye and calm way of working that makes her stand out on the production floor. Her main goal is simple: making sure all products meet the highest quality standards before they reach our customers.

When Ibon Mujika Gonzalez joined De Heus in early 2025 as Lab Manager at the Orkoien Laboratory in Spain, he brought with him an impressive scientific background. With a degree in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country and hands-on experience across water quality, human food analysis and metallurgy, Ibon seamlessly transitioned into the world of animal nutrition — a field that was new to him, yet full of opportunity.

Our peopleGert Kerkhofs – Team Leader Dairy Specialists Flanders (Belgium)
Although he did not grow up on a farm, Gert Kerkhofs developed a passion for the sector at an early age. “During my holidays I worked on a farm, and that really sparked my enthusiasm,” he says. After attending agricultural school in Bocholt, he moved to Geel to obtain his bachelor’s degree in dairy farming. He then started working on a dairy farm to gain practical experience. “After several years in the barn, I moved into advisory work and eventually joined De Heus. I’m now team leader for the dairy team in Flanders.”
