Because rations must produce returns, the ration efficiency on a dairy farm is of key importance. Ration efficiency is expressed in kilograms of fat and protein-corrected milk (FPCM) produced by a dairy herd on the basis of the kilograms of dry matter consumed. From an economic perspective, for a dairy farm it is essential that the production per kilogram of dry matter is as high as possible. Assuming equal costs, this increases the farm's cash flow. Economic calculations involving the assessment of a new farming strategy clearly demonstrate that it is easier for a farm to meet its obligations when, in addition to any growth in the number of cows, it also realises higher production levels.

After entering the Spanish market at the end of 2015, De Heus Nutrición Animal is pleased to announce that on March 13th she has signed the agreement for the acquisition of the compound feed plant of the Agrupación de Cooperativas de Regadío de Extremadura (Acorex). The unit, located in Toledo, is a factory dedicated - in the Dutch mold - and which already produces the line of Feed Premium Romelko, novelty in Brazil The openning of the new dedicated factory of De Heus, in Toledo changed the agribusiness in Paraná and brought together entrepreneurs, producers, cooperatives and authorities of the region, such as the mayor of the city, Lucio de Machi; the secretary of economic development, Paulo Almeida; former mayor Beto Lunitti. Also attended the event: Koen De Heus, global CEO of the company; and Ton van der Laan, member of the Grupo Royal De Heus Board; who came from the Netherlands to this important event.
