Elżbieta "Ela" Lorek – Warehouse Manager
In 2016, Ela started on her journey with De Heus Poland, drawn by the promise of a career that resonated with her expertise in production planning and warehousing. Though the early days posed formidable challenges, Ela's tenacity and adaptability paved the way for growth and fulfilment. Nowadays she leads a team of 12 people. Reflecting on her journey, Ela remarks, "Every challenge I faced was an opportunity for growth. It was through overcoming obstacles that I truly discovered my capabilities and passion for this industry. One thing is important to me. I never forget that I was once in the same position as my employees."

Being responsible for the production team of Apucarana factory, Luiz Fernando Stuchi Locilha is usually in charge of preparing and scheduling the daily production sequence, organising training sessions for the team and monitoring all the processes and activities related to the different departments within the factory.

De Heus Russia opens Prestarter factory
On May 22nd, during the VIV Russia trade show, the special piglet prestarter factory in Lakinsk, Russia was officially opened. The official opening was performed by the Dutch Ambassador in Russia, Ron Keller, together with Maxim Sazonov, Koen de Heus and other dignitaries.

Developing programmes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
To combat global climate change, it’s important to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of feed and food production. Not least because global warming has an enormous impact on agriculture throughout the world. At De Heus, we are committed to implementing programmes that aim to create emission reductions in feed production and food supply chain. Leading these programmes is Stefan van den Bogaard, Group Director Technology & Investments. He tells us about De Heus’s strategies to reduce the company’s global carbon footprint and how De Heus’ local expertise is generating new ideas for sustainable solutions.

Royal De Heus launches centre for practical research into pig nutrition
Royal De Heus opened its centre for practical research into pig nutrition, ‘De Elsenpas’, on Monday 6 May. Feeding research can now actually begin following the arrival of the first TN 70-SPF breeding sows. The inauguration underlines De Heus’ ambitions to take the next step in the continuous development of innovative pig feeds.

Tassia Mye Banin Thomazini - Quality Control Supervisor
Tassia began her career at De Heus as a Quality Control Analyst, joining the Quality team at the time when the laboratory was set up in the country, located in one of the units of Rio Claro, in the interior of São Paulo. Today, Tassia oversees all the procedures and laboratory staff, who not only perform much of the monitoring analyses of raw materials and finished products from all De Heus Brazil manufacturing units, but also analyse samples for various De Heus customers. "Every day I learn from new challenges, both in the technical and people management field," says Tassia.

De Heus Animal Nutrition strengthens its position in Indonesia with the acquisition of Neovia Indonesia
On the 2nd of June, De Heus Animal Nutrition (De Heus) completed the acquisition of the compound feed operations of Neovia Indonesia (PT Welgro Feedmill and PT Wirifa Sakti) from ADM. With two compound feed mills located in West-Java and East-Java and total sales volume of 125,000 tonnes in 2019, Welgro and Wirifa focus mainly on the poultry, aqua and swine feed segments. For De Heus Indonesia, the acquisition is an important step in its ambition to become a leading player in the Indonesian animal feed market.

Premix
Producing premixes that work in every mill at every farm
De Heus premixes are designed to work seamlessly in the production processes of both feed mills and farmers. When De Heus acquired a premix animal nutrition factory in Rio Claro, Brazil in 2012, Industrial Manager Alexandre Reis, was instrumental in transforming the existing production lines into a modern, automated facility which produces premixes that are safe and easy to use. He tells us about how the factory was developed and how it meets customer needs on a daily basis.
