Our peopleIvica Cvetković – Product Manager for Ruminants
Ivica Cvetković works as a Product Manager for Ruminants in the Commercial department at De Heus Serbia. Since joining in October 2023, he has brought a hands-on approach to his role, combining office work with regular visits to farms and production facilities. Ivica’s connection to the farming world is clear, as he spends much of his time close to the animals and the people who care for them, making his work both personal and practical.

SustainabilitySeeds of change: restoring forests and creating income in Brazil
In Central Brazil, seed collector Dinaura Zago Sobrinho often spends hours walking through dense forests, gathering seeds. Through a collaboration between De Heus and the Black Jaguar Foundation, she is helping restore one of South America’s most important ecosystems. This project is not only rebuilding biodiversity, but also empowering people in rural communities both financially and socially.

PigletsWeaning all piglets as healthy as possible
The number of live born piglets per sow is increasing year by year. On average, there are over 14 live born piglet in a litter and for farms ranked among the top 20% in Holland this figure is as high as 15 live born piglets. Given this many liveborn piglets, it can be a challenge to rear them all up to weaning. Supplying extra milk in the farrowing room, in cups or by hand, can support the sow in weaning more piglets. In addition, motherless rearing can also aid in increasing the number of piglets weaned.

Usually, people’s memories of their first encounter with horses are firmly etched in their minds. Not Lucie though. She grew up with horses from such a young age that she can’t remember a time when she wasn’t around them. Her love for horses was also encouraged by her aunt, who owns horses and is also a top rider. It was therefore no surprise that Lucie’s focus at secondary school and later university was on agriculture.

Before coming to De Heus Myanmar, Neo was an Agri Business Department Manager at one of the top local banks for 4 years. De Heus is his second job in his career. He is currently working as a Treasurer.
