This makes the Dutch agricultural sector the second largest exporter of agricultural products in the world, after the United States which is still the biggest exporter.

Optimising feed production in Egypt

In the northeast of Egypt, aquaculture is showing huge potential as a sustainable source of animal protein. Sustainably producing animal protein is the sum of all its parts; from the sourcing of raw materials and the processing in the factory, to optimising feed conversion. Building on its experience in the poultry sector, De Heus invested in a new aquafeed production plant in Borg El Arab, Alexandria. Sondang One Mayosita is a Quality Assurance Supervisor at De Heus Indonesia. Her role involves overseeing the implementation of guidelines and requirements throughout the production process at all De Heus factories in Indonesia. Sondang is also instrumental in establishing the necessary requirements and guidelines for the new facility in East Java. Her daily responsibilities include coordinating with individuals in charge of various processes.

Investing in piglets pays off

Healthy, well-growing piglets are profitable during the rearing period and,in addition, they also achieve good results in the fattening phase. These piglet will be easier to sell and might warrant a higher selling price. This is important, because the piglet selling prices determines the differences in feed profit between sow farms.
