DairyRobotic milking and grazing
The increase of farmers with robotic milking is still growing. Is Robot Milking and grazing easily to combine? De Heus can help to make grazing for our customers a success. For a dairy farmer this comes down to earning (more) money when grazing! This causes new or additional challenges for the modern farmer who uses a milk robot. We therefore list a number of these challenges, and indicate how we can help you in this area.

BroilersOptimal feeding of broiler breeders to produce vital broilers
Excellent chick quality is of importance for the proper start-up of a flock of broilers. This already starts during the formation of the egg and the embryo in the broiler breeder. As soon as the hatching egg is laid, all of the nutrients needed for the embryo to develop until hatch, must be present. The broiler breeder itself and its nutrition play an important role in this regard. De Heus, in cooperation with Wageningen University & Research, recently initiated an extensive long-term study of the influence of the broiler breeder’s nutrition on chick quality.

PoultryDe Heus sells poultry slaughterhouses Van Miert to Clazing
Royal De Heus has signed a conditional agreement with Poultry Slaughterhouse Clazing. The agreement implies that Clazing takes over the poultry slaughterhouses of Van Miert and Mieki Hunsel from De Heus. As a result of the agreement, De Heus acquires a minority stake in Clazing. With this step, the slaughter capacity is safeguarded. Hereby, a slaughterhouse combination has been created with a positive future outlook. The proposed transaction has yet to be approved by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Royal De Heus strengthens its position in the east of the Netherlands by taking over Coops Mengvoeders
Royal De Heus and Coops Mengvoeders have reached an agreement on the acquisition of Coops Mengvoeders by De Heus subject to ACM’s approval. This is a major step for Coops Mengvoeders to further develop its regional growth activities. To De Heus, Coops is a key partner for reinforcing its regional position in the east of the country. With a turnover of 115,000 tons, Coops Mengvoeders has a leading position in the east of the Netherlands. The business activities will be continued under the name Coops Mengvoeders. The acquisition does not affect employment.
