    Tim van der Vegt – Trainee Finance and Strategy/M&A

    Having spent most of his childhood in Indiana (US) growing up on a large dairy farm, it may not come as a surprise to those close to Tim that he chose the traineeship at De Heus. When he and his family moved back to the Netherlands in 2014, Tim finished high school in Assen and decided to study Econometrics with a specialization in Quantitative Finance at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Among the many traineeships available for prospective starters, the traineeship at De Heus especially excited him.

    De Heus Brazil Inaugurates Largest Plant in Itaberaí, Promoting Regional Growth

    De Heus Brazil officially inaugurated its largest plant in Itaberaí, Goiás, on May 4th, 2023. The inauguration event was attended by CEO Koen de Heus, Rinus Donkers (president at De Heus Brazil and Latin America Director), Daniel Vilela (the Acting Governor of Goiás), journalists, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians, and other entities. The newly opened plant specializes in producing high-quality feed and supplements for ruminants, with advanced technology, production management systems, and an automated process ensuring production safety and adherence to high-quality product standards.

    De Heus has its own laboratory. Dirk van den Broek is International Laboratory Technician and has been working for De Heus for nearly 20 years. He not only performs all kinds of analyses in the laboratory, but he also develops analysis methods, takes samples and advises international companies on cross-contamination tests.

    Isabel Barreiro - Formulator

    Isabel Barreiro has worked as a formulator in the Spanish formulation department since 2016. In 2008 she obtained her veterinary degree. Isabel spent four years working as a researcher at the university and obtained her PhD, which she wants to present this year. Before becoming immersed in the world of animal nutrition and working in a small farming cooperative, she worked as clinician.

For the past six years, he has worked in the Agricultural sector (food and feed) in various capacities, ranging from hands-on production to the documentation of activities.

    Keshnee Rambally - HR officer at De Heus South Africa

    Keshnee grew up in a modest home in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal. As the eldest of 3 children, her parents were very progressive and always encouraged her to pursue happiness. Keshnee matriculated from Heather Secondary in 1988 and studied early childhood development. 31 years ago, she married into the Rambally family and has two wonderful children. Keshnee recently celebrated her Long Service Award of 20 years at De Heus. She joined Nutrex in 2003 and continued to work for De Heus when Nutrex was acquired in 2007. She initially served as a receptionist and assistant to the Directors, taking on responsibilities such as assisting with orders during the weekends, handling invoicing, and managing price letters, among other departments she contributed to. When an opportunity for growth arose, Keshnee seized it and transitioned to the Human Resources department at the Head Office located in Umlaas Road, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

    De Heus sells poultry slaughterhouses Van Miert to Clazing

    Royal De Heus has signed a conditional agreement with Poultry Slaughterhouse Clazing. The agreement implies that Clazing takes over the poultry slaughterhouses of Van Miert and Mieki Hunsel from De Heus. As a result of the agreement, De Heus acquires a minority stake in Clazing. With this step, the slaughter capacity is safeguarded. Hereby, a slaughterhouse combination has been created with a positive future outlook. The proposed transaction has yet to be approved by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

    Various De Heus plants throughout Europe are regularly inspected by Tesco. During its inspections, this British supermarket chain thoroughly assesses whether the production of our animal feeds complies with its specified requirements. We always aim to produce high-quality animal feeds. It is therefore rewarding to see that Tesco found our animal nutrition to be up to their standards during their latest inspection of one of our sites in the Netherlands. This confirms that our quality criteria and method of working continue to meet the highest possible standards.
