A De Heus hatchery in Ghana boosts the region's farmers and supports local communities

Last year, De Heus formed a pioneering joint venture with Kuipers Breeders to set up a state-of-the-art hatchery in Ghana producing layer chicks. By supplying a cost-effective alternative to imported layer hens, the partnership aims to help develop egg farming in the region, provide the local population with an affordable source of protein and support rural communities. Theo Smalbraak, Business Group Director Africa & Middle East, De Heus, and Jurjën Kuipers of Kuipers Breeders report on the status of project.

Reduced clostridium diarrhoea through change in feeding approach

The first day after farrowing all looks good. But on the second or third day however, suddenly there are piglets in the farrowing room that have a drop in growth. The first thing that comes to mind is that the sow has too little milk. But a more careful look shows small spots of diarrhoea lying about here and there. By means of a quick test it is easy to isolate the pathogens that are playing a role here.

De Heus Vietnam commits to 10 year financial support for eye care in Vinh Long province

Dutch animal feed producer De Heus Vietnam has committed to a 10 year sponsorship of eye care projects in Vinh Long province by the Eye Care Foundation. This initiative will be launched at the opening of the Vinh Long II factory of animal feed, April 15th 2016.

De Heus visits Black Jaguar Foundation's environmental restoration areas in Pará
