With more than 20 years of experience in the animal nutrition industry — all at the same production site in Šabac — Mirjana Rakić has seen the site evolve from Proteinka to De Heus Serbia, following the acquisition in 2015. Today, she plays a key role within the Customer Service team and is widely regarded as one of the most respected and well-liked colleagues across departments.

From Quality Control to Customer Service
Mirjana began her career in quality control, where she gained hands-on experience in all aspects of laboratory operations — from sourcing raw materials and performing sensory analysis to monitoring input components and verifying finished products. After seven years, she transitioned into the commercial department, where she discovered her true passion: customer service and sales. “I love working in sales because it pushes me to improve every day. I enjoy seeing tangible results and being part of something that truly matters — producing high-quality animal feed that supports our customers and their animals.”

Her career journey is defined by dedication, curiosity and continuous development. Over the years, Mirjana earned the trust of her managers and began to take on increasingly complex tasks — particularly within export logistics, where accuracy, structure and composure are essential. “I’m proud to have been entrusted with important responsibilities in export. Thanks to the support of my exceptional colleagues and managers, I’ve learned to navigate every detail — from procedures and documentation to logistical coordination.”

Mirjana plays an important role in connecting farmers and customers with internal teams such as logistics, production and quality control. Her communication style is thoughtful, honest and always focused on delivering practical solutions. “Customer Service is much more than administration. We are the bridge between the factory and the customer — and the way we work defines how people experience De Heus as a company.”

Whether resolving an issue or handling a complex request, she approaches every situation with care and professionalism. “I always listen carefully before taking action. I check the facts, consult the necessary departments, and return with a solution that works — both for the customer and for the company. I believe transparency is the foundation of trust.”
