De Heus opens new animal feed factory in Dong Nai
The fourth and also the most state-of-the-art factory of De Heus Animal Nutrition opens on the 18th of June. This factory has a capacity of 300,000 tons per annum and it will serve the fast growing market of De Heus in the South and Center of Vietnam. With this new factory De Heus is taking the next step towards being close to its growing number of customers all over the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. The new factory will mainly produce pig, poultry and cattle feed.

This ultra-modern factory has been built over the past six months, according to the latest insights. Royal De Heus strengthens position in Spain with acquisition of Evialis Galicia
On November 29th 2019, Royal De Heus signed the agreement for the acquisition of the Spanish compound feed plant Evialis Galicia from Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM). With a volume of more than 50,000 tonnes of compound feed annually, Evialis Galicia has a leading regional position in northern Spain. The acquisition is consistent with De Heus’ strategy to strengthen its position in the large Iberian animal feed market.

June 2020 De Heus Animal Nutrition continued its growth in the north of Spain with the acquisition of Piensos Muga. Susana Arrojo González has been working as a HR Director for De Heus Spain since December 2017. She played an important role in smoothing the merger of both companies into one integrated company with a strong and unique De Heus culture.

In Ghana, the vast majority of laying hens are imported, resulting in high egg prices. De Heus has formed a pioneering joint venture with Kuipers Breeders to produce layer chicks locally. This will not only support the country in developing its own independent food supply, it will also help provide the local population with an affordable and nutritious source of protein. We talk to Jurjën Kuipers of Kuipers Breeders and Theo Smalbraak, Business Group Director Africa & Middle East, De Heus, about how the partnership developed, what they plan to achieve and their long-term ambitions.

Grand opening of new shrimp feed production line in Vinh Phuc Vietnam
Saturday October 7 th marked the grand opening of the shrimp feed production line located in our Vinh Phuc factory of De Heus in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam. With this factory De Heus is able to respond to the rapid growth of shrimp farming sector in the North of Vietnam.

Isabel Barreiro has worked as a formulator in the Spanish formulation department since 2016. In 2008 she obtained her veterinary degree. Isabel spent four years working as a researcher at the university and obtained her PhD, which she wants to present this year. Before becoming immersed in the world of animal nutrition and working in a small farming cooperative, she worked as clinician.
