Why De Heus

Royal De Heus is a privately held family company which was founded in The Netherlands in 1911. Over the more than 100 years of its existence and especially in the last two decades, De Heus has expanded from a nationally oriented compound feed manufacturer into a quality driven multinational animal nutrition provider. We believe in doing business in a responsible and sustainable way, by finding the right balance between people, progress, profit and planet. Thinking about the needs of future generations, feeding the world, and the company’s role in society are important to De Heus, its employees and its owners.

With almost 60 production locations in more than 15 countries and trading activities in over 75 countries, over 6.000 employees within De Heus contribute daily to the company’s objectives and ambition. And still we see many opportunities to enter new markets.

Our slogan, ‘Powering Progress’, helps us convey what we aim to be for our customers: the driving force for advancement. To help us realize our ambitious growth strategy and further professionalizing our company, we are always looking for people who are intrinsically motivated to make an impact, to make a difference. Self-starters who show entrepreneurship, initiative and who are in for a career for the long run. Powering Progress, together.

Our unique culture

Our culture is unique, as a family-run business, for four generations, we have been working as entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship runs through our veins and to be successful within De Heus, it is crucial to share that entrepreneurial spirit. Read more about our culture and the importance of cultural fit when selecting new employees.

Empowering your progress

‘Powering Progress’: we believe our people are the determining factor behind this driving force for advancement. Therefore we empower your progress!

In a fast growing organization, it’s our employees that make the difference in realizing our strategy. This is why we invest in developing your talents and create a culture of continuous learning and development, no matter what role you’re in.

Our state-of-the-art Talent Suite provides a variety of (online) training programs customized to your needs. In addition we organize global development programs such as our Feed Academy and De Heus Business School. You have ample opportunity to learn, grow and collaborate with your peers across the world. All the while we create an inspiring working environment in which you can nurture your talents and put them to maximum use.

We live up to our promise

Although we are very down to earth, we are proud to share that our annual employee engagement survey consistently show that our employees are closely involved and incredibly dedicated. To us, it is proof that the freedom we provide and the trust that we place in our employees is valued. We work hard to maintain this and take any opportunity , such as the employee focus sessions that follow on from the survey, to improve further.

ValUe Festival

A great, recent example of how we invest in our employees is the ValUe Festival. One day with full focus on individual growth, ambitions and future. Kicking off with a presentation by brain expert Mark Tigchelaar, followed by practical workshops providing tips and tools to put into practice in day-to-day work, and inspiring talks by our leaders. What participants said about the ValUe Festival: surprising, inspiring, very special, valuable and above all: FUN. Next year the ValUe Festival will be back! Will you be joining?
