Within our Global Nutrition department, we are looking for an ambitious research assistant to strengthen our Poultry team. In this role you will support our Research & Development department in drawing up and implementing our research program. This position is based in Ede, the Netherlands.
What will your responsibilities be?
Every year Royal De Heus carries out a large number of practical trials to develop new feeding concepts or to evaluate feedstuffs and feeding values. These trials are carried out on our own research farms.
As a research assistant, you are partly responsible for conducting the research: collecting data, preparing further analysis and processing data and reporting outcomes. For this position we are looking for a jack-of-all-trades who, in close contact with the researchers and farm managers, closely monitors the execution of the trials. This means you will regularly visit the research farms to accurately collect research data and critically assess the animals.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, updating and improving work instructions and protocols for the research together with the R&D team;
- Planning in and coordinating various activities at the research farms;
- Coordinating the sampling and analysis of feed;
What do we expect from you?
You have a minimum of a higher vocational (HBO) education and a strong affinity with Poultry. In addition, you have already gained relevant work or practical experience. Equally important is your affinity with research, data processing and reporting research results. Your precise and detailed way of working fits in well.
You are a real organizer, you take initiative, are creative, flexible and can work independently. You are regularly on your way to visit the poultry research farms, so you have a valid driver’s license. You are described as a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, in Dutch and English.
What do we offer?
Royal De Heus offers you a challenging position in a dynamic and international context. You will have the opportunity to truly make an impact and contribute to realize our strategy.
We believe that our employees really make the difference and power the progress of our fast-growing, highly ambitious organization. That is the reason why we invest in developing your talents and create a culture of continuous learning and development, no matter what role you are in. We offer you a full-time contract with flexible working hours, in an informal culture that offers trust, short lines and fast decision-making. An environment where there is plenty of room for entrepreneurship and new initiatives. You will receive a competitive remuneration package based on your knowledge and experience.
