Project Officer Carbon Footprint & Sustainability

What will your responsibilities be?

You will be part of the Global Ruminants department and you will be part of the Carbon Footprint (CFP) project team. The CFP project is part of De Heus' Global Green Goals.

The aim of the project is to make an inventory of the relevant data with regard to the carbon footprint for all animal groups in all our Business Units. The Project Officer ensures that this data is entered uniformly in the system (Bestmix) so that it can be reported, monitored and used in formulations. Relevant data include the origin of raw materials, energy consumption of the factories and, for example, transport distances. The Project Officer ensures that the correct CFP values ​​are available by the end of 2022. In this role the Project Officer contributes to the determination of procedures and ensures that the work processes are set up. To achieve this, you work closely with our global Business Units and the CFP Project Team.

In addition to the CFP project, the Project Officer is involved in researching, retrieving and reporting sustainability figures. This goes beyond just CFP data and includes elements like water consumption, use of antibiotics, etc.

This will be a temporary position (which will last for two years). After completion and evaluation of the project, the working method will be embedded in the regular work procedures for purchasing, formulation and production. In the first year the focus of the tasks will be on Carbon Footprint and in the second year the focus will shift more towards sustainability, where you will be involved in the sustainability baseline measurement and the process to monitor the sustainability indicators.
