In the position of Global Purchaser you have a crucial role in the profitability of our business by purchasing several commodities and micro ingredients for the right price, with the right quality at the right time. De Heus is now looking to reinforce its team with a Global Purchaser.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role you will be responsible for several areas. The first area is dairy ingredients for our joint venture Nukamel located in Weert (NL). The second area is the Micro ingredients: Choline Chloride, organic acids for the production of our compound feed for De Heus Animal Nutrition. These ingredients go to destinations at 12 global sites from Brasil to Asia.
Finally, the set up and execution of the global and regional sea freight strategy of the micro ingredients (mainly from China) is also part of this position.
As a Global Purchaser you are responsible for the competitiveness of the commodity segment, especially of Nukamel. You are responsible for the global coordination of the purchase of the ingredients and analyze the markets to optimize global procurement timing and manage price risk. Next to that you obtain and share internal and external information among the different business units and decide on strategic purchase decisions related to your areas of focus.
You will work closely with international suppliers, a local purchase office in China and your direct colleagues in our global purchase team, based in Ede, the Netherlands.
What do we expect from you?

You have a structured way of working, you can identify market drivers and you can make a clear analysis of complex international markets using multiple different information sources. You will stay up to date with market drivers and you are expected to create short/mid and long-term visions and strategies for your markets.
You have obtained 5-7 years of experience in a commercial purchasing or trading role preferably in the feed or food commodity industry. Next to that you have a Master degree and are fluent in English. Other languages (especially Dutch are considered as a strong advantage. You have a decent understanding of how to process data and the use of ERP systems. You have a winner’s mentality and you combine this with team spirit and strong analytical skills.
A work permit for the EU is a strict requirement.
