Global Purchaser oils & fats

As a Global Purchaser oils and fats at De Heus Animal Nutrition, you will be responsible for the global coordination of the purchase and trade of oils and fats for the production of compound feed, analyze the oil and fat markets to optimize global procurement timing and manage price risk. Next to that you obtain and share internal and external information among the different business units and decide on strategic purchase decisions relating to oils and fats. You will work within our global purchase team purchase team, based in Ede, the Netherlands.

What will your responsibilities be?

As a Global Purchaser you manage global risks coming from the business unit’s procurement of oils and fats both physical and derivative markets. You obtain, process and share relevant information among the different stakeholders. Based on your experience and knowledge you actively look for new products and suppliers to improve our products mix and supplier base. By cooperating closely with external and internal stakeholders, e.g. global formulation, local management and global suppliers you stir and manage strategical decisions regarding the sourcing of oil and fats.

You have a structured way of working, can identify market drivers and can make a clear analysis of complex international raw material markets using multiple different information sources. You will stay up to date with market drivers and are expected to create short/mid and long-term visions and strategies for your markets.

What do we expect from you?

You obtained 5-7 years of experience in a commercial purchasing or trading role preferably in the feed or food commodity industry. Next to that you have a Bachelor degree and are fluent in Dutch and English, other languages are considered an advantage. You are familiar with MS office, MS Excel and you have a decent understanding of how to process data. You also have a winner’s mentality, team spirit and strong analytical skills.
